Gene Yon to replace retiring President Angelo Firenze
Adaptive Instruments Corp., a leading provider of process control instrumentation, today announced that the company has named Gene Yon as President. He will be taking over the role of President following the retirement of Angelo Firenze.
Yon has a long history in the instrumentation industry. In his new role as President, he will be leveraging his skill and experience to help guide the company into exciting market opportunities afforded by the development of the wireless and SET module products.
With an undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Case Institute of Technology, Yon became a professor at Case-Western Reserve. He left higher education to become a partner at Booz Allen Hamilton where he launched the firm's Electronics Technology Practice which grew to include over 70% of the 500 largest global electronics based firms in its client base. He left Booz Allen as the Global Electronics Practice leader to join Combustion Engineering as President of the Engineered Systems and Controls Sector where he led the growth of the Sector to over $750MM from a base of $140MM. Upon the acquisition of Combustion Engineering by ABB, Yon joined Bailey Controls as Executive Vice President advancing to President and before becoming Group Vice President of the Americas for the parent company, Elsag Bailey Process Automation NV. He led the firm through a successful IPO on the New York Stock Exchange and most recently, Yon was the Group Vice President of Technology, Quality and Business Development for the Intelligent Automation Division of Invensys, plc.
With more than 30 years in the instrumentation industry, Yon's guidance and industry insights will be pivotal in leading the company toward new opportunities.
